Amy Shane is a progressive school leader who is a consummate advocate for students. She is a great example for future superintendents. She represents the new generation of school leaders who care deeply about the community, students and parents.

Shane is a collaborative leader who encourages a culture of collegiality within her school community. She is committed to public education and efforts to assure all children receive a quality education in Nebraska. She’s an advocate for all schools at the Nebraska legislature. She has been willing to serve as a mentor for new superintendents within her service unit area and provide information, expertise and her time.

Jim Sutfin, Superintendent, Millard Public Schools, Omaha, Neb.

Jim Sutfin is an outstanding superintendent and leader among his peers in the Omaha metro area and throughout the state. His connections with the business community has paved the way for him to become one of the major architects in Blueprint Nebraska.

He firmly believes that there must be a connection between K-12 education, post-secondary education and the business community to keep Nebraska’s economy strong. He has also been heavily involved in the Nebraska “#BeKind” movement that has an enormous impact on promoting positive school culture. Sutfin is a leader among leaders and encourages his staff to be involved in association activities and office holding.
