Introducing Valerie Truesdale

Valerie Truesdale joined the AASA Leadership Network in January 2019. She is responsible for developing, leading and implementing AASA’s professional learning programs, including Women in School Leadership, Wallace grants, strategic partnerships, professional learning and consortia. Truesdale previously served as superintendent in two districts, as well as chief learning officer and chief technology and transformation officer. She brings experience in rural, suburban and urban settings to support AASA’s members. With more than 25 years in public education, Truesdale joined AASA after serving as associate superintendent for personalization and school partnerships with Charlotte-Mecklenburg (N.C.) Schools. She previously served as superintendent at South Carolina’s Beaufort County (2007-2012) and Oconee County (2003-2007) School Districts.
